Hi, I'm Irene May

I’m Irene May and welcome to my blog Dubenzjy. I’m the author of ‘I Heard About You and Now I Know You’. It’s a guide to get to know God, overcome your hurts, and remove unwanted habits. In it, I pour out my soul in regards to my relationship with God and how He saved me from my dark past. It’s also an easy to understand guidebook for the youth to follow.

The Flame of Intimacy

Our walk with God is out of the good pleasure of the Almighty God. When we were sinners Christ died for us and has reconciled us to God. Therefore, our living should be in Him, to glorify Him in everything regardless of our experience, ”For to this you were called, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving an example for you to follow in his steps” (1Peter 2:21).

The Lord desires we live a life that dies to self and alive in Him, which says not I but Christ, ” I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2). Rulers want to Lord over their subjects, but Jesus became a servant to all. We are to remain alive in the Spirit and live submissive to the wishes of the Father and not to our will, but Christ’s

How can a Christian attain a Spirit-filled and surrendered life?

As the child of God reads and obeys the Word, he or she experiences the guiding advantage of the Word; a lamp, and light to the Christian. Also, the Word is not just a letter, the Word is Spirit and life ,”It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). Christians who read and live by the Word experience the move of the Spirit of God in their daily lives through guidance in thoughts, words, and action; such believers are called the Spirit controlled Christians. On the other hand the Christians who indulge in sinful living reduce the activity of the Holy Spirit in their lives, and such Christians will go deeper into sin because the Holy Spirit remains dormant in sinful living.

Jesus is the Word. The scripture tells us, in the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and it became Flesh (John 1). The moment we got born again, the Spirit of God was planted in us, the same Spirit Jesus made reference to when he said, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you, to teach and lead you into all truth” (John 16:7). The food to nourish the spiritual babe in us, is the Word of God. The Word of God entered into Ezekiel it got him on his feet (Ezekiel 2:2)

The Word is the law, commandment, statutes of God that teaches the fear of God, and results in the delight for God’s service,” The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover, by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward (Psalm 19:7-11)

Jesus, our example rose up every morning to seek His Father to enjoy the sweetness of the fellowship with the Father and hear from Him. Jesus appreciated and lived having fellowship with the Godhead, the reason He was aflame, powerful, and fulfilled His ministry on earth despite all opposition, ”for the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” (2Corithians 10:3-5).

Our life pursuit can be ordered divinely as we walk with God, read, obey His Word, and commune with Him in prayer; the beginning of good success and our being on fire for God.
