Hi, I'm Irene May

I’m Irene May and welcome to my blog Dubenzjy. I’m the author of ‘I Heard About You and Now I Know You’. It’s a guide to get to know God, overcome your hurts, and remove unwanted habits. In it, I pour out my soul in regards to my relationship with God and how He saved me from my dark past. It’s also an easy to understand guidebook for the youth to follow.

Intimacy and Understanding

Two disciples of Jesus were on their way to a city called Emmaus after the news of Jesus’ resurrection, recapping the events over the crucifixion weekend. Someone joined their company, and the two men continued to enumerate their accounts over the events as they journeyed. Jesus was the man who joined along the way, and was the listener at the history of the events. He acted like He never knew what they were discussing. It got to a point during the discussion that Jesus started to analyze all that Christ suffered, and related them to the scriptures; Jesus then vanished from the disciples, and in amazement, they expressed their spiritual eyes, and their understanding was sharpened while Jesus exposed the scriptures. They did not know it was the risen Christ who had been with them until He left. It is this same Spirit Jesus promised His disciples when he said they should tarry in Jerusalem until they have received the gift of the father (Luke: 24:49).

The fullness of the Spirit is essential for the Christian to live a useful and meaningful Christian life. He said,” But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you” (John 14:26). We are baptized, indwelled, by the Holy Spirit at conversion, and received the command to be filled with the Spirit of God, who controls and dominates our characters. Paul advised Timothy to stir up the Spirit of God in Him (2Timothy 1:6-7).

The following are the promoters of being continually filled with the Spirit of God:

Always practice cleansing from Iniquity through confession of sin.

Surrender the whole being to Christ,” now that ye have received the Lord Jesus Christ, walk-in Him rooted and built up in Him” (Colossians 2:6).

Let the Holy Spirit control your body, soul, and spirit, and yield everything to His control in an undivided submission.

Renew your mind at all times. Grow and live to please God through reading the Word that renews the mind, the living Word of God.

Meditate on the Word and live by its truth.

Be ready to admit your sins and weaknesses through confession to the Almighty. Lay aside the obstacles to your spiritual growth.

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:31-32).

Sin is a hindrance to attaining your spiritual best.

Grow in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ through fellowship and guidance.

You will then grow in understanding of His ways. Life under the guidance of the Holy Spirit helps the Christian to grow into maturity and in the knowledge of the things of God.

The Holy Spirit in the believer’s life gives the Christian a thrill to overflowing in living, and Christian understanding in things of the Word, and will no longer remain a stranger to the culture of God.
