Hi, I'm Irene May

I’m Irene May and welcome to my blog Dubenzjy. I’m the author of ‘I Heard About You and Now I Know You’. It’s a guide to get to know God, overcome your hurts, and remove unwanted habits. In it, I pour out my soul in regards to my relationship with God and how He saved me from my dark past. It’s also an easy to understand guidebook for the youth to follow.

Intimacy and Friendship

Many have experienced disappointment from intimate relationships between husband and wife, bosom friends, family, and other close associates. Negative Experiences from these relationships have left many in the valley of hopelessness, insecurity, addiction, loss of confidence.

The world and life, in general, are never easy to explore; relationships raise expectations that are not sustainable regularly; the crash from the hurt of disappointment has left many devastated and destroyed their coping skills. Psychologists play fantastic roles to help some come out of these devastating effects on the whole being; however, some are not able to bounce back.                                                                                                                                              A few looked into churches for help, and it is not uncommon to hear some say their churches disappointed them by taking advantage of their helplessness, making them casualties of the ills in the church. (This type of experience does not rule out the positive role of Churches, but the parishioners need to decipher the right place of worship, just like every other thing, through knowledge). As a result, some have resolved into their shells and distrust of the divine intervention.

The good news is that the Lord has the answer to all human problems. He gave us a wonderful treasure to navigate and discover about life, the secret to successful living, and friendship, amid all hitches along the journey.

The scriptures referenced below tell us the Lord has the answer to true friendship, and He is the balm that heals:

The secret to discovering all the treasures He has for every area of our lives, including friendship, is the Bible. Read the Bible every day from Genesis to Revelations. As you read the scriptures and allow the Holy Spirit to actualize the contents into your life through prayers and obedience to the Word, you find joy and comfort; your life is less dependent on the shallowness of human relationship but buttressed in the love of the Savior;  the reason Jesus gave the parable of the wise man who built His house on the rock, and it stood still within the boisterous waves (Matthew 7:24-27).

You may refer to my book on Amazon Kindle, ” I heard about you, and now I Know You,” on tips for reading the whole Bible.”

The man David discovered and said in Psalm 19,

” The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;

The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;

The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;

The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;

The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold,

Yea, than much fine gold;

Sweeter also than honey and the [honeycomb.

Moreover, by them, your servant is warned,

And in keeping them, there is great reward” (7-11).

” Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:28-29).

” A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24).

” Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

The Book of Proverbs (called the Book of Wisdom) is highly recommended as a quick reference to navigate life in general.
