Hi, I'm Irene May

I’m Irene May and welcome to my blog Dubenzjy. I’m the author of ‘I Heard About You and Now I Know You’. It’s a guide to get to know God, overcome your hurts, and remove unwanted habits. In it, I pour out my soul in regards to my relationship with God and how He saved me from my dark past. It’s also an easy to understand guidebook for the youth to follow.

A New Year, A New Season of Intimacy

“Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.” (Harvey Mackay)

“Suspect each moment, for it is a thief, tiptoeing away with more than it brings.” (John Updike)

The preacher in the book of Ecclesiastes was correct when he wrote to everything; in everything, there is a time and season.

How do we value opportunities that come our way? Do we hold them dearly or discard them?
We may regret later if we didn’t embrace what was valuable, then it would be late to acquire the benefits that knocked at our door.

“ So teach us o Lord to number our days,
so we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12).

“Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth,
Before the difficult days come,
And the years draw near when you say,
“I have no pleasure in them”:
While the sun and the light,
The moon and the stars,
Are not darkened,
And the clouds do not return after the rain;
In the day when the keepers of the house tremble,
And the strong men bow down;
When the grinders cease because they are few,
And those that look through the windows grow dim;
When the doors are shut in the streets,
And the sound of the grinding is low;
When one rises at the sound of a bird,
And all the daughters of music are brought low.
Also they are afraid of height,
And of terrors in the way;
When the almond tree blossoms,
The grasshopper is a burden,
And desire fails.
For man goes to his eternal home,
And the mourners go about the streets.
Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed,
Or the golden bowl is broken,
Or the pitcher shattered at the fountain,
Or the wheel broken at the well.
Then the dust will return to the earth as it was,
And the spirit will return to God who gave it.
“Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher,
“All is vanity” (Ecclesiastes, 1:1-8).

We do not know when the day will come, but we read in the scripture the day of the Lord will come like a thief. “ Therefore, you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect” (Matthew 24:44).

The year 2021 is right at the corner; we can reflect on the above to guide our walk into the New Year, and cease every opportunity to enjoy year with the Lord.

Most people resolve about the New Year, mostly toward improvement or better living.
Some individuals also use the transition to promise the Lord they will draw nearer to Him. Others desire a closer walk; unfortunately, many stumble before the end of the first month.
My encouragement is to tell everyone they can fulfill their desire for an intimate relationship with God this New Year.
Let’s see what the Lord says in the book of Jeremiah, “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (chapter 29:12-13).

We search the Lord with all our hearts when:

We set apart a time daily to spend with Him in talking through worship, thanksgiving, and prayers.
We habitually read the scripture daily, meditate on the reading for the day, keep those words in our hearts, and live to obey all the scripture’s reading.
The Holy Spirit becomes activated and more alive within us when we follow in the above steps.
We become spiritual giants when we do this conscientiously; our lives start to be in tune with the ways of God, we love Him better with the desire to follow His truth, and we grow in better intimacy with Him.
We should endeavor to attend a Bible-believing church to worship God and fellowship with fellow believers.

I want to thank everyone for following this Blog site. I appreciate you all. I pray the Lord will reveal Himself more to every one of us.
