Intimacy and Victorious Living; 2021

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom” (Proverbs 1:7).

The current age has made technology and information easily disposable to be very conversant and knowledgeable about lots of information at fingertips.                                  Human is still void, and in search of the right knowledge, the Bible terminology describes as wisdom.

The Enemy’s Invasion

When we reflect on Satan’s attack on a human, called temptation, an effort to invite the person to adopt his lifestyle and give up on God’s lifestyle. We can understand His strategy and success on his first victim, Adam, and Eve. This couple was quite unsuspecting about the disaster awaiting them; they did not have the wisdom to resist and just yielded to Satan’s demand. During the act, it seemed casual; unfortunately, the consequences have proved fatal.

As a result of the sin, our first parents committed, the human race is still suffering from its serious consequences. Their action set the stage for our banishment from God, struggle to fend for our living, loss of fellowship with God, worsening sin, sicknesses, disease, pollution, pandemic, and more. The book of Genesis and the rest of the Old Testament recount many atrocities were resulting from the sin that entered the world. A life of  the Wisdom of God could make the difference.

The Restoration of Man

The good news of the loving-kindness and wisdom of God remains abundant, for He made the plan of salvation to restore man’s fellowship with Himself. Jesus Christ, the Savior, was born to the world to redeem man to God. He accomplished His purpose after laying down His life for man, crucified on the cross, died, and buried. On the third day, He rose from death, ascended to heaven. Today He sits at the right hand of God, making intercession for us. Prior to leaving the world, He taught us the walk of the Wisdom of the Almighty, we find through reading the Word, and living in intimacy with Him.

We discussed in previous blogs how to reconcile with God and the sample prayers to accomplish this.

Jesus taught us in His Word,” But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).

When we accept the Lord Jesus into our lives, He enters in the form of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit empowers us in our Christian walk, He teaches and impresses on our hearts the path of wisdom of the Almighty through the Word, we have our names in the Book of life, and we become heirs of the eternal kingdom; a new earth God is preparing for those who accept His invitation. (Revelation 21-22).

The Fear of God is the Beginning of Wisdom

We all live in this world of sin; the devil is still rampaging, looking for victims to deceive, destroy destinies, and who will accompany him to his end-time destruction, hellfire.                    To live a victorious life and not fall His victim, we need the Lord Jesus to restore our fellowship, as illustrated above. After reconciliation with God, we need His Wisdom to experience an effective dual relationship. High technology and all the new knowledge of science and discovery do not promote the wisdom of God.

The Knowledge of God is An Acquisition From the Fear of God.

Solomon yearned for wisdom after becoming the King of Israel. God gave Solomon the option of  making any request from Him after his kingship anointing. Solomon asked God for knowledge to guide the nation, Israel. He understood ruling well requires a superior intelligence that only the Lord can give. The Lord granted Solomon unique wisdom that surpassed any other in the universe. The knowledge Solomon possessed gave Him insights into unique features about life; he thereby concluded about this superior acquisition in life, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs, 1:7).

The Bible calls knowledge, wisdom. Wisdom is not about knowing everything about the world’s stage; it is the new mindset that takes over everything about an individual after accepting the Lord Jesus Christ. The new mindset results in the individual’s desire to understand God through the reading of the Word, living it out, learning from him or herself, and other Christians’ experience. Paul, benefited from a glimpse of the wisdom of the Almighty, he said, “Oh, the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, OR WHO BECAME HIS COUNSELOR? Or WHO HAS FIRST GIVEN TO HIM, THAT IT WOULD BE PAID BACK TO HIM? For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen” (Romans 11:33-36).

The new life results in the fear to displease the Lord at any moment, but living in His truth.        David described this and said, “With all my heart I have sought You;                                            Do not let me wander from Your commandments.                                                                               I have treasured Your word in my heart, So that I may not sin against You” (Psalm 119:10-11). This is wisdom.

In this age and world of sin, where our children and adults alike have exposure to environments with negative influences, David continued in Psalm 119 and said,                      ” How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word” (v.9).                “Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path “(Psalm 109:105).

I believe our goal for the New Year 2021, is to walk with the Lord, in His wisdom.                   This commitment delights the Lord, and His blessings follow such desires.                                  “Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,                                    Nor stand in the path of sinners,                                                                                                         Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!                                                                                                            But his delight is the Law of the Lord,                                                                                                And on His Law, he meditates day and night.                                                                                    He will be like a tree planted by streams of water,                                                                      Which yields its fruit in its season?                                                                                                          And its leaf does not wither;                                                                                                               And in whatever he does, he prospers” (Psalm 1:1-3).

Watch and Pray

We are not to live ignorant of the enemy’s devices to stall us off our plans and desires. We should remain conversant with Satan’s skills as we walk in the wisdom of God that promotes intimacy; watch, and pray through a life of obedience in the Word; pray against any device he brings, and pray the Word of God into our lives.                                                                        “Finally, be strong in the Lord and the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God so that you will be able to resist on an evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm, therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having strapped on your feet for the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.                                                                            With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be alert with all perseverance and every request for all the saints,” (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Read the Bible daily, and pray always. Acquire wisdom; and with all your possessions, acquire understanding.
