Hi, I'm Irene May

I’m Irene May and welcome to my blog Dubenzjy. I’m the author of ‘I Heard About You and Now I Know You’. It’s a guide to get to know God, overcome your hurts, and remove unwanted habits. In it, I pour out my soul in regards to my relationship with God and how He saved me from my dark past. It’s also an easy to understand guidebook for the youth to follow.

Intimacy and Sustenance; Part 3 – The Word

During the time of Moses, the Lord entrusted a treasure to His children in the way of the laws and commands. They were moral laws for fleshly control. Many were not able to comply with the rules, and some made it legalistic to soothe their purposes. When Jesus came to the scene, He said His mission was not to destroy the law but to modify it. He demonstrated the sense of the Word. Jesus spoke the Word and showed the power and anointing in the Word. He did signs and wonders; he healed the sick, opened blind eyes, revealed the power of God; and being the Word of God, taught His followers and disciples the connection between Him, the Father, they are one as They both have contact, and the work He does is by the Father. In the same way, for those who believe in Him, He will send the Spirit of truth to maintain the union with Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, in that human.

Furthermore, Jesus promised, as follows, “On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I in you. The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me, and My Father will love the one who loves Me, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him” (John 14;20-21).

Jesus’ Words clarified the relevance of adoring His Word: intimacy, a place with the Savior, and favor with God.

We are privileged to be part of the generation of grace, who have the potential of the Knowledge in the Word of God, the Holy Spirit empowerment, and the blessings of unity and favor with God and the Son.

What is The Word of God?

The Word existed with God at the beginning, and the Word was God (Genesis 1:1).                The Power made the world and creation of the Word (Genesis 1:3).                                             All scriptures (the Word) are inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16).                                                    The Gospel Word is the power of God unto Salvation for all who believe. (Romans 1:16).      God honors His Word above His name (Psalm 132:8).                                                                    The Scripture as It is, remains the final and established Word of God (Revelations 22:18-19).

The Characteristics and Blessings of The Word

The Word is Spirit and life (Jn. 6:63).                                        The Word of God is like fire and similar to a hammer that shatters the rocks. (Jeremiah, 23:29).                                                  The word is living, spontaneous, powerful, and sharp. “For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom we must answer” (Hebrews 4:12-13).                                                        The Word never lies. For all the promises of God in Him are ‘Yes,’ and in Him ‘Amen,’ to the glory of God through us” (2 Cor. 1:20; Eph. 1:7).”                                                                            God honors His Word more than His Name; He performs all He declared. (Psalm 138:2).     The Word Instructs. “By the Word is your servant warned in the keeping of them there is great reward.”

The Benefits of The Word of God

“All Scripture is beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be competent, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy” 3:16-17).                                                                                                                      “It will be healing to your body, and refreshment to your bones” (Proverbs 3:8). The Roman centurion said to Jesus, “only speak a word, and my servant will be healed” (Matthew 8:8). The law of God restores the soul, makes the simple wise, rejoices the heart, and it’s enlightening. (Psalm 19:7-9).

How Do we Actualize the Word of God in Our Lives?

We need to become born again to understand the things of God, “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1Corinthians 2:14). The new birth in Christ regenerates our being from the old man, the flesh; to the new man, renewed in the Spirit of God. When the Spirit of God indwells us from the moment of the new birth, everything about God starts to give meaning.

We are to practice the life of walking in the Spirit, as described in the last blog. The born-again child of God studies the Word daily, asks the Holy Spirit to interpret the Scriptures, prays for the Holy Spirit to empower to follow the teachings, and lives by what the Bible says. When one reads the Bible every day and follows the instructions, the individual grows into a new mindset that imitates the mind of Christ. The believer enjoys intimacy, experiences the Holy Ghost empowerment, and communication with God and the Holy Spirit becomes a lifestyle.

Read the Word of God daily, meditate on the contents, and adopt the learning into your living.

Factors that Cause Deterrence from The Word

Sin. Unconfessed sin will dwindle the joy of salvation in the believer, destroying the zeal to fellowship with God; because the Holy Spirit is upset. An immediate solution to restore the routed connection is to confess the sin, ask for God’s forgiveness, and ask the Lord to correct the Holy Spirit. (See example in Psalm 51). The Bible stands on the believer sinning is as follows; “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:1-2).

Inability to believe and have faith in the potency of the Word of God.
