Intimacy: All He Wants from You

Faith

The Lord spoke to Noah to construct an ark for himself and his family because he was about to destroy everything on earth with the flood because the people were filled with violence.

Noah, in faith, believed God without seeing an approaching storm or food and started to build the ark. According to readings, Noah was preached repentance and service to God amid people’s jeering at the insane action of ark building.

Obedience

On a fateful day of the flood, the Lord ordered Noah to enter the ark he constructed along with his family and all other living animals and creatures God asked him to gather. The torrents of rain fell for forty days and nights, the flood of water increased in height, and Noah’s ark floated on the water, while every other creature on earth, including humanity, submerged under the waters and wiped out.                                                                                                    Noah’s faith and obedience in God saved him from ruin, while the rest of the nation that did not believe were destroyed in flood. Noah believed in God and walked in obedience.

Israel’s children were bitten by poisonous snakes and were dying after grunting against Moses and God during their journey in the wilderness. The Lord instructed Moses to make a fiery serpent and mount it up; anyone who looks at the brass serpent after bitten shall live. It happened that Moses made the brass serpent and when anyone who looked at it after a bite lived. Those who obeyed the Lord’s instruction enjoyed the benefit of the obedience. (Numbers 21:6-8).

Enter into the Ark

Our obedience is the bedrock to our faith in God. Our ark today is Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal salvation from sin. Noah’s faith saved him, which also spilled over to his family. Today, we receive the saving grace through faith in Christ Jesus. “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

Living the life of obedience attracts God’s promised abundance in our Christian journey.  When He talks of His abundance, it does not have to be what the world calls wealth, but He promises His sumptuous provision as the scripture says, “and my God shall supply your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). Is there any man who understands His ways or needs? Only Him who formed you and knew you before you were born, and to this David said, “Your knowledge of me is too deep; it is beyond my understanding.” (Psalm 139:6).

Why are we questioning the Lord, “Why do you say, Jacob, and you assert, Israel,                       “My way is hidden from the Lord,                                                                                                            And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God”?                                                                 Do you not know? Have you not heard?                                                                                              The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth                                                Do not become weary or tired.                                                                                                                His understanding is unsearchable.” (Isaiah 40:27-28).

Your Service

Moses, in His last warning to Israel, said the Lord was not rewarding the Israelites because they deserve it; he was only honoring His promises with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob because of His faithfulness. As a result, Moses reminded the people their responsibility to remain under God’s protection is obedience and faith, walking in His reverence, love, and wholehearted service.

“Therefore, do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things, the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its things. Sufficient for the day is its trouble.” (Matthew 6:31-34).

Conclusion

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.” (Joshua 1:8).
